Time is one of those things that waits for no one. If you’re anything like me, you’re always playing catch up which is why I am giving you the top 7 best time saving hacks for the working mom.
1. Establish a Routine
Having a routine helps keep you on track, limits procrastination, reduces stress and contributes to better mental health.
2. Time Block
Time blocking allows you to concentrate on one task at a time, ensuring you go from one task to another quickly and efficiently.
3. Online Shopping
Let’s be real, unless you have great will power, you are walking out of Target with more than what you had on your shopping list. This is one of the reasons why shopping online for groceries is beneficial. It allows you to save time, money, stick to your list, is super convenient and less stressful.
4. Meal Prep
Meal prepping is one of those things that takes dedication but once you get the hang of it, it’s game over. Meal prep helps reduce food waste, saves money, is less stressful and great for weight loss.
5. Divide Chores
Chores are great to help foster team building within the the family, teaches children responsibility, discipline, and basic life skills. Creating a clutter free environment, regularly cleaning and completing household chores leads to less stress and better mental health.
6. Take Advantage of “Wait Times”
We’ve all been there, waiting in the school pick up line for our kids to get out of school and suddenly you find yourself scrolling social media. Take advantage of the wait times and make your appointments, update your calendar, create your meal plan, clean your car and my favorite, read a good book.
7. Don’t Over Schedule
You’ve said it before, I’ so busy, or I don’t have time for…, and your favorite, I’m so tired! What’s crazy is that you’re in control of your schedule. You know, as a working mom your time is limited. Learn to use time blocking in your planner to account for your time. Do not say yes immediately to invites, prioritize, and learn to say no.
